How do I set up or change my authentication app?

You’ll need to download an authentication app to your mobile phone to link it to your Okcoin account. Google Authenticator is one of the apps you can use. Scan the QR codes to download it from your app store.

How do I set up my authentication app?

Here's how to set it up for the first time:

1. Log in to your Okcoin account.
2. Go to the Security settings page. You can find it under your profile icon > Security settings.
3. Find Authentication app under Pending security items and click Link.

4. Scan the QR code or enter your key in the app to link it. Save your key and keep it secure in case you need to manually reset it later.
5. Click Get code in the first field under the instructions. If you've previously linked your mobile phone, we'll send a 6-digit code to it. Otherwise, we'll send it to your email. Enter this code.
6. Open your authentication app and enter the code for your Okcoin account in the second field.
7. Click Confirm to finish linking. Make sure to do it before the authentication app code expires. 

Note - You can use any authentication app, not just Google Authenticator.

How do I reset my authentication app?

You can reset your current authentication app if you want to use another app or mobile phone. To help keep your account secure, don't forget to delete the previous key. Here's how to do it:

1. Log in to your Okcoin account.
2. Go to the Security settings page. You can find it under your profile icon > Security settings.
3. Find Authentication app under Completed security items and click Reset.

4. Scan the QR code or enter your key in the app to link it. Save your key and keep it secure in case you need to manually reset it later.
5. Click Get code in the first field under the instructions. If you've previously linked your mobile phone, we'll send a 6-digit code to it. Otherwise, we'll send it to your email. Enter this code.
6. Open your new authentication app and enter the code for your Okcoin account in the second field.
7. Click Confirm to finish linking. Make sure to do it before the authentication app code expires.

You can also manually reset your authentication app if you don't have access to your Okcoin account. Find the key you saved during setup and use it to link another authentication app or mobile phone.

Note - You won't be able to withdraw any funds for 24 hours after resetting your authentication app.

How do I turn my authentication app off?

You can stop using your authentication app for your Okcoin account. Once you turn it off, we'll stop asking for your authentication code when you withdraw funds or change security settings. You'll always be able click Turn on anytime if you want to start using your authentication app again.

It's less secure, so we only recommend doing this if you've lost access to your authentication app. Here's how to do it:

1. Log in to your Okcoin account.
2. Go to the Security settings page. You can find it under your profile icon > Security settings.
3. Find Authentication app under Completed security items and click Turn off.
4. Click Get code in the first field. If you've previously linked your mobile phone, we'll send a 6-digit code to it. Otherwise, we'll send it to your email. Enter this code.
5. Open your authentication app and enter the code for your Okcoin account in the second field.
6. Click Confirm to turn your authentication app off. Make sure to do it before the authentication app code expires.
